It’s been a long road…

…But I’ve finally reached my goal and I’m going to physical therapy school. Between November and January I traveled all over the East Coast for PT school interviews. I got into several schools, but made the decision to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was my first choice, and I’m so honored to be attending such a prestigious school and program with the 29 other amazing people in my class (yay class of 2017!!)! I’m sorry for the blogging hiatus, but with everything going on I really wanted to dedicate my time and energy to preparing for the interviews and such.

I can’t wait to be a Tarheel!

I also wasn’t doing much in the way of running either…so my posts about riding the exercise bike or doing the elliptical for 30 minutes every day probably wouldn’t be good reading!  That has changed though…and I’m currently training for the Baltimore 10 miler on June 14th.  I’m really looking forward to running another race…and the longer runs are finally getting easier again!!

A bad picture where my Garmin decided not to pick up anything until 3 miles in…but it was nice and sunny!

Other random things that have happened since I last wrote:

– I became a brunette (and I think they have more fun than blondes…maybe?)

– I helped my mom recover from surgery (the picture below was after she was cleared to drive!)

– We celebrated Mom’s 21st anniversary of her 39th birthday over several days with much eating (and crabs…since we’re in Maryland)

– And just today I had a minor surgical procedure on my mouth.  Mom was awesome enough to drive me, hold my hand, and buy me a milkshake afterwards.  It was awesome! (well…the milkshake was awesome, the part where I couldn’t feel my mouth for a few hours…not so much!).

Chick-fil-a chocolate milkshake = best medicine

They didn’t give me any exercise restrictions, but I think I’m going to take it easy and do Zumba tomorrow (so freaking excited for that!!), and maybe run either Saturday or Sunday.  I have 8.5 miles planned for my long run this weekend, but we shall see if that actually happens!

Favorite college teams for football/basketball/etc?

Would your parents usually take you out for a treat after you went to the doctor?

Doing any fun runs this holiday weekend?

Yay for blogging again! I fully support a milkshake every day of the week. I might take Zumba tomorrow too! 🙂

I’m so excited about having free time and writing more than once every two months 🙂 You should definitely do Zumba…it’s awesome cross training and dancing in the middle of the work day is always a good thing!
